LAME
這是用來製作高品質 MP3 的編碼器(Encoder)，主要特色如下。
* 製作 MP3 的速度快，且製作出來的 MP3 的品質足以與商業版軟體匹敵。
* 支援 MPEG1, 2 and 2.5 layer III 編碼。
* 支援 CBR (constant bitrate) and two types of variable bitrate, VBR and ABR.
* 編碼引擎可以被編譯(compile)成 shared library(Linux/UNIX) 或是 DLL、ACM(Windows)。
* 內建有各種 Preset，方便使用。
